高性能光コンピュータ用素子結晶の作製技術の開発

研究概要	光コンピューターの実用化のために必要とされる種々の光学結晶の高品質化を目的とし、演算機能を有するチタン酸バリウムやその周辺に用いられるサファイヤ結晶、フッ化物結晶などの作製を行った。とくに本研究では、将来の高密度集積化をにらんで薄膜状の結晶材料に焦点を置き、レーザーアブレーション法などを用いて結晶のできやすい条件、不純物粒子などの混入しにくい条件、結晶組成のズレが起こりにくい条件などを模索した。レーザーとしては、従来もっとも一般的に用いられている赤外のYAGレーザーよりも短波長で数倍光子エネルギーの高いエキシマレーザーをもちいることでフルエンス依存性を、さらに膜堆積中に基板に紫外線を照射することにより膜質の改善が行えることを見いだした。行った実験条件中で、もっとも良質な薄膜を作製するための照射エネルギー、基板温度などを明らかにした。
