研究概要	情報科学あるいは情報学として新しい学問領域が、旧来の研究分野を横断する形で形成されてきているが、基礎理論も無限次元解析や量子確率の融合を受けて大きく発展している。本企画調査では、これまでに確立している量子確率論における手法に基づき量子情報論を構築し、統計科学に新しい方向性を与えることと、境界諸分野における非線形現象・散逸・ゆらぎの認識・計算量・量子系の観測などの課題を整理することにあった。研究代表者・分担者ともに多くの研究会を主催・または参加し、外国から多数の研究者を招聘し、研究を遂行した。その結果、次の研究課題の重要性を認識するに至り、そのための研究組織を構築することとなった。 1. 量子ホワイトノイズ解析。確率変数の量子分解の確立、複素ホワイトノイズによる作用素の表現、ホワイトノイズの高次冪の定式化などによって、幅広い応用が期待できる。特に、新しい量子確率解析として量子情報論の基礎を担うためには、情報力学の定式化や新しい情報モデルの構築が課題となる。 2. 量子情報論の実験的側面が急速に発展していることから、「量子性と散逸」の問題を理論的に掘り下げてゆく必要がある。量子計算における困難であるデコヒーレンスなどがその典型例である。非平衡熱場理論に示唆される有限温度における量子確率解析やフィルタリングの手法などで制御する理論の構築は興味深い。量子アルゴリズムの高速化・計算量の問題などについては今後の課題である。 3.代数的確率論。統計解析における最も重要な概念である「独立性」および中心極限定理について新しい高い観点から統一することを試みた。離散グラフの隣接作用素の漸近的スペクトル解析への応用され、新しいノイズに基づく確率モデルの構成への道が拓かれた。
