研究概要

すきまと電子系の複合自由度を活かした物質の創製と新機能の開拓を推進すべく、研究計画を遂行し、以下の成果をあげた。
1.新化合物創製グループ
山中らは、新規層状窒化物超伝導体の母物質として、フッ化物MNF(M=Zr, Hf)や硫化物M_2N_2Sを合成した。BaAl_<1-x>Si_<1+x>(0<x<0.5)が2.8-3.2K以下で超伝導を示すことを見出した。Ba_8Si_<46>の超伝導がBCS機構によることを同位元素効果や圧力効果から結論した。
高畠らは、Ce_2NiB_<9.7>やYb_2Pt_3Sn_5が価数揺動のために大きな熱電能を示すことを見出した。Ba_8Ga_<16>Sn_<30>中のBa原子のアインシュタイン振動を確認し、その熱伝導度の抑制効果を評価した。伊賀らは放射光測定班及び理論解析班と共同し、HiSORを用いた内殻吸収線2色性実験によってYTiO_3の反強的軌道秩序パターンを決定した。
2.ナノ構造機能創製グループ'
藤井らはLiNH_2とLiHの混合物にTiCl_3を添加してミリングすることにより、150℃で6重量%の水素を貯蔵させ、150-200℃で放出させた。MgH_2にNi微粉を少量添加して短時間のミリングによって、100℃での水素貯蔵量を6.5重量%まで高め、実用化への目処を付けた。
八木は超伝導体Al細線の準粒子の電荷インバランスを測定し、準粒子の緩和時間を8nsecと決定した。Al/AlOx/Alトンネル接合をもつループを作製し、微小超伝導量子干渉素子として動作させることにより、電荷インバランスのエネルギー依存性を解析した。
3.固体物性測定グループ
世良らはCe_<0.8>La_<0.2>B_6のIV層はKxy型の3ドメイン構造の長距離秩序であること、Ce_xR_<1-x>B_6(R=Pr, Nd)のCeイオンの近藤効果はPrイオンの影響は受けるが、Ndイオンとは無関係であることを明らかにした。藤らは、ZrNCl_<0.7>の超伝導異方性を磁気抵抗測定から定量的に求め、PrOs_4Sb_<12>のナイトシフトの測定から超伝導クーパー対のパリティをほぼ決定した。
鈴木らは硫化スピネルCuRh_2S_4の圧力誘起による超伝導体から絶縁体への転移を発見し、CuRh_2Se_4でも同様の転移の兆候を見つけた。Nd_<2-x>CexCuO_4の電気伝導の圧力変化を、c軸異方圧による面内伝導の次元変化とキャリア密度の圧力変化とによって説明した。
4.分光測定グループ
固体分光測定:
宇田川らは希土類六ホウ化物RB_6のラマン散乱スペクトルがRイオンの価数に依存することを見出した。RFe_4P_<12>(R=La, Ce, Pd, Nd)の原子間相互作用の強さを決定し、R-P間の相互作用が異常に強いことを指摘した。ナノ構造化グラファイトに吸蔵された水素がC-H_2とC-H_3の状態であることを見出した。
浴野はトンネル分光により、MgB_2と同形のNbB_2が強結合超伝導体であり、多重ギャップをもつことを見出した。異方的ギャップをもつ電荷密度波物質のヘテロ接合のトンネル電流を計算した。
放射光測定:
谷口と生天目らは、エネルギー高分解能光電子分光によって、カーボンナノチューブにおける朝永-ラッチンジャー状態を始めて観測した。島田らは、近藤半金属CeRhSbでは4f電子のギャップは伝導電子のギャップの1/6程度であるのに対して、近藤半導体CeRhAsではギャップ構造が単一であること、YbB_<12>では4f電子状態に角度依存性の強い準粒子ピークが15meVに現れることを見出した。
5.理論解析・物質設計グループ
小口らはNbB_2関連物質の第一原理計算により、NbB_2の安定性を確認した。MgB_2のホウ素位置でのσバンドとπバンドの部分状態密度を実験と比較し、電子相関が弱いことを示した。CeRhAs, CeRhSb, CeNiSnのバンド計算によって、Ce原子の局所環境によってギャップ近傍の電子状態が微妙に変化することを示した。
城らは強磁性モット絶縁体YTiO_3の付加的な反強磁性変調の出現機構を提案するとともに、Tiの2p-3d遷移を伴うX線吸収線二色性スペクトルを計算し、実験との比較から、軌道秩序パターンを決定した。VO_2とTi_2O_3の金属-絶縁体転移における3d原子内交換相互作用と格子歪みの重要性を指摘し、電子配置の大きな変化を伴う新しいタイプの相転移の機構を提案した。
永井らは、エアロジェル中の超流動液体^3Heのシリカ鎖による異方的散乱効果を調べ、超流動相での音波伝播と吸収を計算した。常伝導-超伝導接合系の境界のラフネスがd波超伝導体の場合にはアンドリーフ反射を著しく抑制することを示した。
