研究実績の概要

This research would fall in the classification of expected co-benefits in different sectors, with special focus on urban energy system and will also address in some detail the role of executive policy targets support to reduce the GHG emission and air pollution in cities. Following objectives have been covered through the second phase of study.1)Designed and developed the analytical framework (Optimization Phase) based on the cost-effective mitigation perspective, using mathematical programming technique to identify the cost-effective measures for achieving specific energy and emissions reduction-targets in the urban area. 2)Tested the model by using real data to analyze the power crisis in Delhi.3)Developed the database of the research including data for the city of Tehran.4)Reviewed methods for assessing the potential application of various grid-connected and grid independent hybrid power systems in Hamadori coastal area, Fukushima prefecture.5)Prepared and submitting a paper including the main outcomes of the research to the Journal of Cleaner Production which is currently under reviewing. Also I attended some international conferences to present the result of the research.6)Had discussion with researchers in University of Brighton, University of Sussex, University College London and Kyoto University on the research findings

理由

The research project is going on schedule.The overall objectives of the second phase of the research have been achieved through completing the concept and methodology of the research and also testing of the developed methodology by using real data for the selected case studies (Yokohama and Delhi).The validation study showed that the research method is usable in practice to generate realistic scenarios with different solutions for a wide variety of energy-climate issues at the urban level.

今後の研究の推進方策

In the future phase of the research,the following objectives should be covered: 1)Tehran field visit and finalizing the data collection process.2)Adopting the developed methodology to assess the potential application of low carbon energy systems in Hamadori coastal area, particularly, Shinchi town in soma district area. 3)Developing the road map of the urban climate co-benefits (special focus on energy system) based on the comparative analysis among Japanese cities and selected Asian and the Middle Eastern cities.4)Attending the 9th ASME Conference on Energy Sustainability in June,USA.5)Writing a book chapter on urbanization and climate co-Benefits: Implementation of Win-Win Interventions in Cities. 6)Preparing and submitting a paper with title of "Co-benefit policies for the urban transportation sector, a case of Tehran, Iran" to the journal of energy policy.
