幹細胞の可塑性と未分化性維持機構

研究概要	二年目の年に入り、計画研究代表者9名および200件を超える応募からえばられた約40件の公募研究の代表者を加えて、申請書に計画研究にあった通り、1)細胞の初期化の機構、2)幹細胞の未分化性維持機構、3)幹細胞の多様性と可塑性の3つの課題について研究が進められた。まだ本プロジェクトを開始してから1年しか経過していないが、ES細胞の未分化性維持を制御する遺伝子nanogの同定、腸管粘膜細胞の可塑性を利用したインスリン産生細胞の誘導、非対称性分裂による造血幹細胞のコミットメントと自己複製の様式の解明など、着々と成果が得られている。 5月には第一回の公開班会議を大阪で開催し、計画研究代表者9名がそれぞれ研究成果を発表した。また、公開班会議の際に第一回の総括班会議を開催し、総括班員、計画研究柱長を交えて本プロジェクトの研究活動に関する方針、計画研究の進捗状況、公募研究の応募ならびに審査状況について.さらに平成16年の公開班会議の場所について検討がなされた。平成16年度の公開班会議は東京の経団連ホールにおいて4月27・28日に開催する予定で、現在準備が進められている。今回の班会議では計画研究代表者、公募研究代表者全員が研究成果を発表する予定である。
