巨大リング状ポリ酸の光合成と構造制御

研究概要

約3.5nmの外径を持つリング状ポリ酸は酸性条件下、[{Mo_<18>O_<56>(H_2O)_8}_2]^<8->をアルコールなどの電子供与体存在下でO→Mo電荷移動吸収帯(LMCT)を光励起することによって形成され、そのリング構造(リングを構成するリンカーの数、還元電子数、リング径)はpH、光照射時間、電子供与体や共存イオンの種類等のパラメーターに大きく依存する。今回La^<3+>を共存イオンとする反応系においてそのイオン濃度を大きくしたところ、La原子を骨格に取り込んだリング状ポリ酸[Mo_<150>O_<522>La_2]^<n->{Mo_<150>La_2}のイソプロピルアンモニウム塩の結晶を得、そのX線構造解析に成功した(monoclinic, space group P2_1/n, a=39.41(1),b=17.890(4),c=58.30(1),β=99.074(4))。これまでに報告した完全リング構造{Mo_<154>}とその誘導体である欠損型リング構造{Mo_<146>}、{Mo_<142>}はいずれも外径約3.5nmの円型であったのに対して{Mo_<150>La_2}は長径3.8nm、短径3.3nmの楕円型構造を示し、2個のLa原子はリングの内側、長軸方向の対角線上に配位していた。La^<3+>は9個の酸素原子に取り囲まれて全体として面心三方柱構造を取り、そのうち4個がMo原子との架橋酸素原子、5個が水分子由来の酸素原子になっている。このような希土類イオンを骨格に取り込んだリング状ポリ酸として他に{Mo_<120>La_6}や{Mo_<134>La_<10>}の結晶化にも成功しており、構造の詳細が求められた。
