研究概要	アジアにおけるエキノコックス症、有鉤嚢虫症に関する疫学調査を推進している。活動の中心は調査国の共同研究者の研究グループが自国政府から許可された疫学調査地域で、疫学調査に参加し、(a)共同研究者による疫学調査(ヒト)、(b)これらの寄生虫疾患の伝播に関する生態学的調査(合同調査)、(c)共同研究者による血清、遺伝子解析の指導である。本年度の調査地域は昨年同様、中国、インドネシアの2カ国で、下記の成果が得られた。 1.中国における成果チベット高地におけるヤク、ウサギ、ナキウサギの肝病変、イヌ、アカギツネ、チベットギツネから採取されたエキノコックス条虫について、病理、形態学的、遺伝子解析を行った結果、(i)ヤク(Bos gruniens)の多包虫類似の肝病変は単包虫病変、遺伝子タイプはG1であること(Xiao et al.2003.Am J Trop Med Hyg 69,445-446)、(ii)ウサギ(Lepus oiostolus)の肝病変は多包虫病変であること(Xiao et al.2004.Parasitol Res 92,in press)、(iii)ナキウサギ(Ochotona curzoniae)の肝病変は多包虫病変と、これまで知られていない病変であることが判明した。イヌ、アカギツネ、チベットギツネから採取されたエキノコックス条虫の解析結果から、(iv)犬からは単包条虫、多包条虫、(v)アカギツネからは多包条虫、(vi)チベットギツネからは新種のエキノコックス条虫が確認された(Xiao et al. submitted)。 2.インドネシアにおける成果 (i)イリアン・ジャヤの住民の40%近くが嚢虫症特異抗体陽性であり、皮下病変の遺伝子解析結果から病原体は有鉤条虫であることが確認された(Wandra et al.2003.Emerging Infect Dis 9,884-885;Margono et a1.2003.J Helminthol 77,39-42)。(ii)バリ島におけるインドネシア厚生省研究班の調査から、バリ島で伝統的に流行してきた有鉤嚢虫症が激減し、牛肉から感染する無鉤条虫症が地元住民に蔓延していることが判明した(Ito et al.2003.Lancet 362,1918-1920)。 3.疫学調査に必要な血清検査、遺伝子検査法に関する基礎研究成果が得られた(論文参照)。 4.平成16年度は中国、インドネシア、それにモンゴルを中心に調査する予定である。
