研究概要	研究1年目は各分担者に地域景観情報をGIS上で総合化するため一連の研究を行ってもらった。すなわち、日本各地で開発にさらされているか保全対象となっている生態系を含む景観システムにおいて野外調査にはじまり、当研究で初期の目標とするGISによる情報入力までを行ってもらった。都市や草地景観域では一部学術論文を発表することができた。特に日本とニュージーランドにおいて同一のGISシステムで研究を行い2国間の環境情報の標準化に成功したことは重要である。、研究代表者はこの研究に直接参加したので得るものが多かった。国内の分担者間においても完全に1つのGISシステムで情報を一元化する手法を開発できるかである。各分担者がそれぞれ小スケールから大スケールヘ研究を拡大してゆく方針であるため、個体群や物質に注目した比較的詳細な研究が成果として挙がっているが、同時に大スケールでも研究を展開しているので来年度からは戦略アセスメントに寄与できる研究成果が蓄積されてくると考えられる。また、本年度の研究成果は、代表者、分担者3人が演者に含まれる日本生態学会50周年記念シンポジウム(3月2日つくば)「景観の構造と機能一日本における景観生態学の総括と展望」の中でも中心的な話題となることになっている。以上のことから、研究は外部からも十分評価されていると考えている。
