研究課題「地球温暖化の東南アジアにおける水田施設への影響」に関して二種類の成果がある。個別成果と一般成果である。個別成果としては次の通り。すなわち、・地球温暖化に関して入手した各種の情報の分析、評価を行い論文にまとめ発表。・世界的な規模で高潮対策を行っているオランダの灌漑用の水路に関して、オランダ、ユトレヒト大、アムステルダム大等と今後情報交換・海外共同研究担当者と今後の情報交換・平成17年度には全研究計画の報告を2国際会議で行い反響をえた。特に英国Tyndall ProjectとオランダのTwente大学とのルーとの設定をした。一般成果である研究の結論は、本研究課題『地球温暖化の東南アジアにおける水田施設への影響』の研究を進めるには、極めて広範な分野の統合が必要である。そのために必須なことは課題の研究の必要性を多くの分野の人々に理解していただくことである。また、本課題は未来予測であり、人類の未来に関わるものである。すなわち、人類の未来を如何に描くか?である。従って、単なる科学技術上の問題にとどまるものではない。大きな人類の課題と捉えねばならない。この様な理由により本課題の研究はその重要性に鑑み、研究組織として英国のTyndallプロジェクトのような、国家による研究プロジェクトの発足を強く提唱するものである。その一環として、具体的に、東南アジア地域の水田施設への温暖化による影響の現状と対策事例について、AIT(Asian Institute of Technology)の同窓会のインドネシア・ジャカルタにおけるシンポジウムのゼミナールで講演。AITの学長(Dr.Said Irandoust)から問題の重要性を認識し、研究促進と協力の申し出及び激励を受けた。
