研究概要	分子素子構築の研究は、単一分子を用いた分子エレクトロニクスの領域に発展を遂げようとしている。しかしながら、これまでのシステムでは情報の伝達が、1電子の授受を介して行なわれてきた。その結果、生成するラジカルイオン状態の安定性に大きな問題が残っていた。その問題の解決に、2電子ずつの電子移動を伴う閉殻系の適応を試みた。酸化還元を担うアズレン置換基をアントラキノジメタンやメチルカチオンに複数個配置することで、閉殻構造により安定化された電気化学的に多段階に応答する分子素子を構築し、2電子ずつの電子移動に基づく有機酸化還元系の多段階の応答機能を明らかにした。また、合成上の大きな問題となる多アズレン置換化合物の新たな合成戦略として、これまでアズレン類の化学では未踏の有機合成上有用なアズレニル金属化合物(リチウム、マグネシウム、およびホウ素化合物)の効率的な生成に成功した。さらに、生成したホウ素試薬を用いたクロスカップリング反応によりπ共役系となるベンゼン環に複数のアズレン置換基を配置したシステムの構築を行なった。また、遭遇した生成物の難溶化の解消のため、アルキル置換基を有するアズレン類の効率的な合成法の開発を行い、難溶化の問題を解決することに成功した。生成した新規なπ共役系化合物の多価イオン状態についてはCV法により検討を加えるとともに有機エレクトロクロミズム系としての機能の検討を合わせて行なった。その結果、ポリエレクトロクロミズム系の構築に新たなシアニン-シアニンハイブリッド構造の概念を提唱することができた。
