非線形システムの数値解析法の開発とその応用・実用化に関する研究

研究概要

区間解析は非線形方程式のすべての解を求める代表的な数値解法として知られているが、計算効率が非常に悪く、実用化に際しては大きな課題を残していた。本研究では、区間解析における基本的な方法論として、非線形方程式を線形等式と線形不等式で置き換え(幾何学的には関数曲線を多角形で囲み)、非線形方程式を一旦線形計画問題に定式化してから、それに線形計画法を適用するという新しいアイデアに基づいた研究を行った。この方法により、それまで不可能だった計算が可能になることが次々と明らかにされた。これらの成果はIEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systemsをはじめとする国際シンポジウムで発表した。
また上記の方法では、非常に多くの領域上で単体法(シンプレックス法)を実行するため、大規模問題に対してはピボット演算回数が激増するという欠点があった。そこで、上記の方法に双対単体法を導入した、非常に効率的なアルゴリズムを提案した。本手法は、既に得られている最適タブローから次の領域用の双対実行可能タブローを導き、そこから双対単体法を開始させるもので、それにより1領域当たりの平均ピボット演算回数を激減させ、アルゴリズムの計算効率を飛躍的に改善できることを確認した。これらの成果は、この分野の国際誌であるBIT, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Reliable Computingなどで発表した。
また上記のアイデアを区分的線形回路の全解探索問題に応用し、線形領域数10^500の超大規模問題の全解探索を可能にする新しいアルゴリズムを開発した。またこのアルゴリズムを、設計現場から大きな需要があるにも係わらず実用的アルゴリズムの存在しなかった「非線形回路のすべての特性曲線を求めるアルゴリズム」へと拡張し、この分野に初めて実用的アルゴリズムを与えた。これらの成果は、この分野の国際誌であるIEEE Trans.Circuits and SystemsやInternational Journal of Circuit Theory and Applicationsなどで発表した。
