1. 最適制御またはH無限大(H絢制御の観点から適応制御系を再設計する手法について研究を行った。モデル規範形制御も含む一般的な適応制御問題に関して、2次の評価関数やH、・制御規範の観点から3つのタイプの最適適応制御系を構成する手法を求めた。2.1の研究を進めて、未知のシステムパラメータを外乱と見なして非線形適応H∞制御系を構成する手法を開発した。それによりパラメータの時間変動に対してロバストな非線形適応制御系が、H∞制御規範の観点から実現されることが明らかになった。一般的な設計法とともに、ロボットマニピュレータの軌道追従制御にも適用して、パラメータの誤差にロバストな制御手法として提案した。3.2の手法を拡張して、非線形パラメトリックモデルに対する適応制御系をH∞制御規範の観点から設計することを考えた。3層のニューラルネットワークを非線形パラメトリックモデルの例として取り上げ、非線形関数の近似器としてニューラルネットを用いた時の非線形適応制御に含まれる様々な不確定要因を外乱と見なして、非線形適応H∞制御系を構成する手法を開発した。またこの手法を一拡張してして、非線形パラメトリックモデル(ニューラルネットワークやウェーブレットネットワーク)を用いたシステムの表現と制御を含む一般的な制御系設計の手続きとその性質を論じた。4.ゲインスケジューリング制御の、スケジューリングパラメータの適応的な調整法について研究を行った。LPVシステムに対して、LMIに基づく適応型のゲインスケジューリングH∞制御系を構成する手法を開発した。5.4の手法に対して2や3の成果も適用して、スケジューリングパラメータの変動に対してロバストな制御系や、パラメータ変動を非線形パラメトリックモデルとして表現して制御する方法などを考案した。さらにむだ時間が含まれる場合についても、同様の考え方で安定な制御系が構成できることを明らかにした。6.適応制御系のハイブリッド的な構成法を考えて、ハイブリッド型適応機構を用いたロボットマニピュレータの反復学習制御方式を提案した。適応則についても考察を進めて、固定ゲインの積分型の適応則に加えて収束性能のよい可変ゲイン型のハイブリッド型適応則も考案した。またこの方式を発展させて、適応機構を並列的に複数配置する手法を考案して、適応プロセスを適応的に改善する高度な学習制御方式として提案した。
