The conventional giant magnetic resonance (GMR) concept having the non-magnetic metal layer is sandwiched between two ferromagnetic metal layers. The ferromagnetic layer could be Fe or Ni or Co. In this work, we utilize the unique ferromagnetic characteristic of graphene as one of the innovative idea to construct a conceptual new GMR device with a cost effective chemical and physical procedure for graphene production and fabrication of graphene thin films. In addition, the graphene has very large room-temperature carrier mobility. Hence considering these excellent characteristics, we believe that graphene could also offer large spin injection efficiency, large MR ratio and very high current gain, less non-linear behaviour and less thermal drift. This will lead to have next generation storage devices with high-mass capacity with very low spin relaxation, de-coherence, non-linear behaviour, thermal drift and gate-induced spin rotation. Hence our approach could surmount the existing challenges in the existing GMR technology. To achieve the purpose of this work, we have done the things below in this year since last December; 1. Detailed Literature survey will be done on the proposed research topic. 2. Listing out the materials requirements for this project. 3. Preparation of epitaxial graphene monolayer on substrate.
