記憶の実験病態生理学の開拓

研究概要	本研究の目的は、申請者による大脳側頭葉における記憶ニューロン発見を基礎として、新たな記憶の実験病態生理学を開拓することである。この目的達成の為、平成14年度において、(1)サル用高磁場磁気共鳴画像システムの構築、(2)文脈記憶、出典記憶の記銘と想起を支えるヒト前頭葉機能の解析、を下位目標とした。(1)においては、4.7テスラ磁気共鳴画像装置の調整は順調に進行し、NMR信号の前置増幅器調整、S/N調整等が完了した。現在まだ幾つかのアーチファクト源に対する対策にはまだ改善が必要であるが(拍動由来、固定具由来、頭部インプラント由来等)、当初の目標はほぼ達成し、行動サル大脳のBOLD信号の取得が可能になった。(2)においては、ヒトの認知能力のうち出典記憶に焦点を絞った研究を行った。ヒトは広範な出典記憶を手がかりにして能動的に記憶情報を検索する。サルに対する課題開発の意味も含めて、ヒトを被験者として出典記憶(広義には文脈記憶)の形成に焦点を絞ったfMRI課題の開発を進め、以下の2つの方向で最初の成果を得ることに成功した。第1は、神経心理学的な出典記憶課題として著名な近時記憶(Recency Memory)の前頭葉機構についてであり、新しく工夫したMRI用課題を用いて前頭葉内に複数の局所賦活部位を同定して近時記憶ネットワーク解明に貢献した(J.Neurosci.22,9549-9555,2002)。第2の成果は、記憶情報が自己の記憶貯蔵庫の内に存在するという確信(Feel-of-Knowing)の脳内機序についての発見であり、ヒトのメタ記憶課題に工夫を凝らすことにより記憶検索過程の自己モニター機能に光をあてることができた(Neuron 36,177-186,2002)。
