研究概要

本研究の目的は、オホーツク海などの季節海氷域の環境変動がその海氷域の変動や海氷生態系に及ぼす影響、さらにそれと全地球規模の変動との相互作用を明らかにするものである。
平成15年度の研究実績
・2003年11月にサハリン北部の観測拠点であるチャイボ地区を訪問し、(1)季節海氷域の海氷熱力学過程のモデル化のために、自動気象観測装置を設置し、非結氷期から結氷期を通しての気象、海象の連続観測を実施している。観測記録は2004年度に回収し、機材の再設置を行い継続して観測を行う予定である。(2)チャイボ沖合に設置した係留型氷厚・流速計測装置を回収し、データの解析を進めている。また、来シーズンに再設置するための準備を行った。更に漂流ブイ設置のための準備を行った。(3)アムール川の流量データ、オホーツク海北部の結氷状況の情報収集について話し合った。
・電磁誘導方式氷厚計測装置を購入し、オホーツク海と同様に季節海氷域であるチャクチ海や南極海の氷縁域で広域積雪、氷厚分布の計測を実施した。また、流氷期の北海道オホーツク海沿岸域やサロマ湖にて薄い海氷域の積雪、氷厚分布の計測を行った。現在データ解析中である。
・北海道オホーツク海沿岸の海氷域で流氷レーダ、短波海洋レーダ、衛星データ、船舶搭載型電磁誘導方式氷厚計測装置、係留型氷厚・流速計測装置などを設置、また漂流ブイを投入して、沿岸域の流氷動態の観測、モデルの開発を行っている。
・オホーツク海南部の観測拠点であるサロマ湖にて、結氷期間中海氷現場実験フィールドにて、海氷生成、発達過程における物理、生物現象を把握するための観測を行っている。
