研究概要

本研究は熱帯サンゴ礁の起源とされるインドネシア沿岸に生息する魚類を定期的に採取し、そして生殖腺発達の年変化と月齢に合わせた変動を調べることにより、月齢同調性産卵現象の広がりと成立要因を探ることを目的に行われた。
第一回目調査(平成15年7月9日から17日)
ディポネゴロ大学の共同研究者との打ち合わせのためにインドネシアに行き、研究に利用する同大学ジェパラキャンパスを訪問した。滞在期間中に予備的に複数の漁師から魚を購入し、組織学的標本として固定した。
第2回目調査(平成16年1月5日から15日)
ジェパラ周辺海域から魚を定期的に採集した。その結果、20種類、1500尾を越える魚を採集することができた。その中には月齢に同調した産卵を行っている可能性を示す種類(ゴマアイゴ)があった。現地で全ての魚から生殖腺を取り出し、フォルマリンに固定して日本に持ち帰った。現在種の同定と生殖腺の組織学的観察を行っている。
