東南アジア産リス科系統における頭蓋形態の適応戦略

研究概要	今年度は、ニホンリス、キタリス、フィンレイソンリス、ハイガシラリス、タイワンリス、カオナガリス、クロオオリスの頭蓋標本を用いて検討を行った。標本は各地博物館収蔵標本を用いるとともに、また国内の害獣駆除集団からの標本化を進めている。解析はまず、眼球と視神経に関する形質を詳細に分析した。そして計測値集合をロコモーションパターンや行動特性との関係を比較した。大後頭孔に対する前頭骨各部位の角度、眼窩容積の指標値、頬骨弓の形状に関連する計測値を厳密に集め、視神経管の位置、大きさ、角度を三次元的にデータ化し、眼球の適応傾向を数値化することに成功した。この結果、ロコモーション生態や採餌特性の変化に対する、顔面頭蓋の伸長、短縮、鼻骨の変異、外鼻孔角度の変化を計測し、適応パターンから受ける頭蓋全体の形態学的特性を定量的に把握しつつある。データ解析は、計測値ローデータから単純なプロポーションの議論を行い、また共分散分析によりサイズファクターを除去した比較を進めた。リス科のように近縁種間でサイズの変異の著しいグループにおいては、大きさの要因から独立した比較が重要となった。さらに主成分分析と正準判別分析による各種の適応戦略の数値化と二次元座標への可視化を行った。同時に系統議論を行えるよう、Qモード相関係数を算出し、頭蓋の類似度を指標にしたクラスター分析を、ホオアカカオナガリスとハイガシラリス、クロオオリスにおいて終えている。現在、計測および統計解析結果を総合しつつ、リス科各種の適応様式と頭蓋の類似度を精査、地理的変異を細かく検出している。そして、同種内の異なる集団間で適応パターンが異なるケースとして、インドシナ産のタイワンリス属、カオナガリス属、樹上性のオオリス属をとりあげ、機能形態学的適応を生物地理学的ファクターに関連づけて解釈することを進めている。
