研究実績の概要 |
The final stage of this research project saw the continued revision of workshop content to take into account the pedagogical needs of the teachers expressed through an exit questionnaire, interviews, and a focus group. The final workshop concentrated on the transition from pre-service to in-service needs. Pre-service teachers attended a workshop lead by a professor from the University of Hawaii. The workshop was very successful and participants expressed an interest in attending future workshops. The following research procedures were followed: 1) The final workshop was held, accompanied by an exit questionnaire, interviews, and a focus group; 2) Data analysis of teachers’ responses was conducted using a mixed-method approach; 3) Interviews were held with key TESOL figures regarding problematic teaching areas; 4) The refinement and creation of TSC material. The research team is currently compiling a report on their research findings. In addition to the final report, the research team plan to create a series of teaching handbooks which will focus on providing practical help for English teachers. This research project aimed to provide realistic solutions to practical problems which English teachers face every day. It is hoped that the workshops, TSC, and handbooks will help understand the problems that English teachers face, and support their professional development by providing ways to improve their English teaching.
