Organizational knowledge management (KM) is studied as a complex adaptive system. Primary achievements: 1.An integrated KM methodology combining agent-based modeling and behavioral experiments is introduced, developed, and verified; 2.The non-linear causality of microscopic agents effort and macroscopic outcomes on organizational outcomes is elucidated; 3.KM policies take consideration of environmental uncertainty and human bounded rationality are evaluated by revealing a non-monotonicity phenomenon and scarcity heuristic decision behavior. Additional contributions: 1. A fair and effective incentive system is designed, induced, and evaluated. 2. System diversity is preserved through incentive configuration; 3. Administrative interventions for long-term optimization are identified.
