As a co-author with Chinese collaborators, the PI has completed an article published in BMC Public Health. This study described the increased ischemic heart disease mortality in Chinese 102 disease surveillance points during 1991 and 2009. For example, in rural areas, the annual percentage change was increasing from 3.52% in 1991-2000 to 9.02% in 2000-2009, which was much higher than in urban areas (AAPC = 1.05%). And the proportion of deaths increased in older adults, and more male deaths occurred before age 60 compared to female deaths.These trends reflect changes in the Chinese standard of living and lifestyle with diets higher in fat, higher blood lipids and increased body weight, which showing the different pattern comparing with those in Japanese population.
The PI has presented the study results on burden of chronic diseases of Japanese in the symposium of The 21st International Epidemiological Association (IEA) World Congress of Epidemiology (WCE2017) in August 2017. The decline trend of years of life lost of leading chronic diseases attributed to the lifestyle changes in Japanese population was clearly explained, and the potential increase of heart disease in young adults was highlighted. As a co-author, presented other two posters on burden of chronic disease in Fukushima and Mito Prefecture at the Japanese conferences.
Instead of trying to use data from Taiwan, the PI had obtained cancer incidence and mortality data of a province in China. The next publication on comparison of disparity of cancer burden may be carried out soon.

理由
Although the PI changed the institute, the research went smoothly. Some research activities have been input and make the project contents sufficient, including the conference publication and the reception of cancer mortality and morbidity in a province in China.
