研究実績の概要 |
During this period we have continued the study and understanding of several problems in this field that were initially started before my arrival to YITP. The achievements in Double Field Theory is two-folded. On one hand, we have constructed an extended field theory that captures the full SL(2) x O(6,6+n) duality group of four-dimensional half-maximal supergravities. Making use of the SL(2) duality structure, it is shown how to generate gaugings with non-trivial de Roo-Wagemans angles via generalised Scherk-Schwarz ansatz. Such gaugings allow for moduli stabilisation including the SL(2) dilaton. On the other hand, we have studied and formulated DFT at 1st order in alpha'. The theory is a T-duality and gauge invariant extension of DFT in which generalized Green-Schwarz transformations provide a gauge principle that fixes the higher-derivative corrections. It includes all the first order α′-corrections of the bosonic and heterotic string low energy effective actions and of the Hohm-Siegel-Zwiebach α′-geometry. We also studied 4 dimensional N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with space-time dependent couplings. We derived the conditions to preserve part of the supersymmetry and found some explicit solutions that generalize the supersymmetric Janus solution found by Gaiotto and Witten.

- Super Yang-Mills and Janus configurations. We want to understand some deformations of N=4 D=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory that preserves a smaller amount of supersymmetries. Inspired by the unbroken symmetries (and supersymmetries) of the deformed theories, we want to understand their supergravity duals, thus establishing a Janus duality.
- Exotic branes and supertubes. We would like to understand some supertube-type solutions in supergravity. These supertube type solutions arise as a consequence of the spontaneous polarisation of two exotic (in general) branes. In particular, we want to find some configurations made out of more than one supertube whose monodromies could exhibit some anyonic behaviour.
- Double Field Theory. We would like to understand some exotic brane solutions in the context of DFT. We would like to find a configuration (bound state of exotic branes) whose compactification could be associated to the well-known supergravities in lower dimension that cannot be obtained from geometric compactification.
