For the second phase (2017), I have completed most of my second round of data collection (Delhi, Guwahati, Roorkee: February 22nd to March 15th ). I have also presented my arguments in workshops and conferences. I presented my major findings in two internationals conferences: a) ‘The Great Hydraulic Transition: Colonial engineering and the making of Modern Rivers in South Asia’, Asian Research Institute, National University Singapore, Singapore, 4th September 2017. b)‘Sustainability against “Safe Operating Space”: India’s cusec-megawatt rivers and writing environmental history in the Anthropocene’, Environmental Justice and Sustainable Citizenship, Global Asia Initiative (GAI) at Duke and Duke Kunshan University, Conference on Environmental Humanities in Asia, Kunshan (China), May 22-24, 2017. I have completed and submitted articles in two peer reviewed journals. One to the journal Geoforum has completed the peer review process and I am required to complete some corrections before the piece may be reconsidered for publication. I am awaiting the peer review from the second journal, Environmental History.
