| 研究実績の概要 |
In the first year of my Kaken project I established a team with 5 researchers. We gave our first collaborative presentation on May 26th during the spring conference of the Japanese Society of German Studies at Dokkyo University, Saitama. In fruitful discussions with the audience, we could shape and evolve our research questions and theoretical approach. After the conference I started editing the contributions and I will publish the collected contribution in May 2017. The topic of my presentation was Peter Handke’s concept of the self in his essays.In August I researched in Vienna’s national library and University of Vienna’s library. Furthermore, I discovered some highly valuable documents in the Austrian archive of literature. In February I continued my research in Germany, especially in Munich's university library.
After the conference I intensified the cooperation especially with Prof. Yamamoto and we jointly prepared two follow up presentations at the conference of Asian Germanists’ Society in Seoul, South Korea from 23 - 26th August 2016. On 24th of August I talked about autobiographic aspects of generational memory and communication in the novel “Es geht uns gut” of Arno Geiger. Furthermore, I published two papers on Autofiction and I co-edited a book on knowledge in fiction: Two more papers are being submitted and fully accepted and will be published in the first half of 2017.

理由
The project made tremendous progress in year one. We established a fully functioning international collaboration of researchers of our topic (autofiction).
The first presentation at Dokkyo University (Conference of Japanese Germanists’ Society) was a great success. We not only were able to improve our individual research, but also managed to define our shared research goals. The input from the audience was very beneficial and we were able to develop our research questions. We were able to reach new conclusions, especially regarding the theoretical basis of our project. The conference also helped us to identify some research gaps in the autofiction discourse, we aim to fill during our cooperation. For my research topic, the international conference in Seoul (Asian Germanists’ Conference) was more useful than expected. I could discuss my research with international researchers from China, Korea, Germany and Switzerland and got much more valuable advice than expected.
Our project made substantial progress thanks to my library research in Vienna (August) and Munich (February). I found especially resources of the 1960s and 1970s, which highlight the very early stage of theoretical works in the field of autofiction. Both our publications and presentations got much positive and inspiring feedback from the scientific community, especially from international academics.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Already in the first half of 2017 two more papers will be published and I am going to submit two contributions during the academic year. A joined publication will be published by the Japanese Society of Germanists’ in May 2017. From April 2017 I will start working for Tokyo Metropolitan University as associate professor at the department of German Studies. From this new position I expect to get fruitful input from my colleagues, especially in the field of medieval studies. Prof. Jun Yamamoto is one of Japan’s highest profile researchers in medieval German literature and I want to cooperate with him especially regarding the question of the literary self in German literature of different historic backgrounds. In August 2017 I will intensify the library research in Vienna and Munich. I will especially do research on Peter Handke’s essays.
In early November 2017 I will take part in an international conference in Sophia, Bulgaria. We will discuss texts of Jacques Derrida. I will give a presentation on the apocalyptic self and self-concepts in eschatological contexts. In winter 2017 I plan another trip to a German speaking country to collect materials for our research. During this year I will concentrate on text analysis, especially autoficitional novels of Thomas Glavinic, Felicitas Hoppe, Hans Magnus Enzensberger and Max Frisch. Furthermore, I will start organizing a conference for the year 2018. I want to invite international researchers from Japan, China and Germany as well as Austria. At this conference I want to focus on autofictional concepts of the self after 2001.

I will intensify my international research and take take part in an international Derrida conference in Sophia, Bulgaria. We will discuss aspects of the apocalyptic self and self concepts in eschatological contexts. For my research, I need to do research in German speaking archives and libraries and I have to go regularly to German speaking countries to collect materials and secondary literary. During this year I will concentrate on text analysis, especially autoficitional novels. I will discuss certain aspects of recent publications with international researchers. Furthermore, I will start organizing a conference for the year 2018. I want to invite international researchers from Japan, China and Germany as well as Austria.
