| 研究実績の概要 |
In 2017, I presented the results of my work at 1 international seminar where I was a guest speaker and 1 workshop for an international collective research project with the International Labor Organization (ILO). I was the guest editor of a special issue on the Regionalization of the Asian Automotive industry for the International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management (IJATM), and published 1 paper for the French Network for Asian Studies.

理由
In 2016, my initial publishing plan until 2019 included 1 book on Toyota, 3 papers in peer-reviewed journals and books, and the coordination of 2 special issues for IJATM.
However, the book on Toyota was postponed to 2019, a book chapter on the restructuring of the Japanese auto industry and a paper on the decline of the Japanese car makers in China are under writing, with a little delay.
This is due, first to the increasing workload as a teacher at Kyoto University, second, to my active participation to two other collective research projects, third, to the coordination of the above-mentioned IJATM's special issue, and fourth, to the organization of workshops for Kyoto university's students at Seoul National University in August 2017 and at National Taiwan University in August 2018.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Until the end of my current research project in 2019, I will have other field works in Brazil & Argentina (June 2018), China (August 2018, and 2019) and in Japan, with also several international conferences programmed.
Besides, I am currently working on the final draft of a book on Toyota for the CNRS editions, on a book chapter about the restructuring of the Japanese auto industry, a paper on the decline of Japanese car makers in China, a report for ILO on the future of the work in the Japanese auto industry, and finalizing the second IJATM's special issue.
I will then achieve my initial goal which was to understand and explain the causes of the diverging trajectories of the Japanese car makers and suppliers, and the ongoing competitiveness of the overall Japanese auto industry.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
I plan to have additional overseas trips in 2018 and 2019, to collect necessary materials for my research project, and to present the results of my work. In FY 2017, I decided not to participate to 2 international colloquiums in order to focus on the writing of the first conclusions of my research, and to spare money for other field trips during the last year of my research. New hypotheses emerged from the first data gathered in FY 2016 & 2017, and I need to further investigate these assumptions.
