研究概要

がん組織にはがん細胞以外に、血管を構成する細胞や炎症細胞などの間質細胞と総称される細胞群が存在し、がんの成長や悪性化に関わっている。この研究では、がん細胞が周辺の組織を溶かすために放出するMMP7と呼ばれるタンパクが、腸がんの成長を促進すること、mTORC1という経路が腫瘍に酸素や栄養を与える血管を増やすこと、更にWntシグナルという経路が胃がんや肝がんの悪性化に重要であることを明らかにした。
