研究課題
基盤研究(A)
1.熱帯アジア各国のカウンターパートの研究機関を訪れ、インベントリー調査、コレクションの構築、モニタリングの試行、院生向けの自然史学に関する教育実習などを行った。本プロジェクトが研究期間中に実施した野外調査は先行プロジェクトと合わせて計10力国25地点に及んだ。2.具体的には、矢田、上田、広渡らは中国広州および海南島で華南農業大学の王敏博士とともに鱗翅類を中心としてインベントリー調査およびモニタリングに取り組んだ。湯川らは、インドネシア科学院のTukirin博士らの協力を得て、ジャワ西部のグヌン・ハリムン国立公園などで野外調査を行い、虫瘤昆虫、膜翅目などのインベントリー作成を行った。ベトナム、カンボジアにおける新しい試みとしては、2005年以来、ベトナム・ロシア熱帯研究センターのMonastyrskii博士らの支援によって、チョウ類のインベントリー調査を進めた。山根、緒方らはアリ類を対象としたANetの組織を強化する方向で大きな成果を上げた。また、小島、野村らはマレーシア国立大学をカウンターパートとして、マレー半島の2カ所で林冠部の定量的調査を継続し大きな成果をえた。3.以上の熱帯アジア地域のインベントリー調査に基づいて、ハナバチ類、アリ類、ヨコバエ類を中心とした膜翅目、大型鱗翅類などについてデータベースを完成させた。4.これまで3年間の成果をもとに2007年12月1,2日に九州大学において、本研究グループの最終報告会を兼ねた国際シンポジウムを開催した。熱帯アジア各国の昆虫分類学者10名と大英自然史博物館のR.I.Vane-Wright氏を招待した。国内外の若手研究者を含む計80名以上の参加者を得て活発な討議が行われた。本研究が昆虫インベントリー構築のための国際的ネットワーク作りに多少とも貢献できたと思われるが、今後さらに継承、発展させる必要性があると考える。
