1 大教室での講師を追従するためのカメラ視野の決定方法とシーン分割方法臨場感のある映像eラーニングシステムを実現するためには,パン・チルト・ズームができるカメラの動作速度が問題となっており、講師に高速に追従するアルゴリズムを開発した。また大学の普通教室で行っている授業映像を自動的にシーン分割する方法について、(a)黒板の状態変化(文字の消去、昇降動作)を基に実施する新しいアルゴリズムと、(b)非発話情報から講師の動作認識(文字・図形の筆記、文字・図形の消去、昇降動作、音声の切れ目)を行う新しいアルゴリズムを開発し、実際の授業映像を対象とした評価実験を行った。2 板書したキーワードを対象とする事前知識を利用した文字列認識と高解像度画像の合成板書した文字列を対象に講義キーワードを単語認識するアルゴリズムを開発した。文字列を認識するためには、黒板の明度を安定して観測する必要があり、新しい局所領域の2値化方法(中央値差分分析法)を開発した。また高精度な文字認識をするには、高解像度画像が必要となるので、カメラをスキャンさせて撮影した複数枚の板書画像を対象とし、輝度調整を自動的に行い、高解像度の板書画像を合成する方式を開発した。3 紙形式文書の電子テキスト化とその利用方法に関する個別学習支援システムの開発高等教育用の授業内容を電子化した電子テキストは量が少なく、各種資料などの紙情報を電子テキストに自動変換する必要がある。そこで、教科書、電子カルテなどの紙形式文書を対象にレイアウト情報、フォント情報を基に、優先度付き検索用タグ(XML)を自動的に付加する方法を開発した。またこの知識データベースを利用して疑問に思ったキーワードに関連する説明文をクリックだけで表示できる個別学習支援システムを試作した。
