英米語ジョークのタイプ分けをした。以下のようなタイプの分類を関連性理論の枠組みで行った。成果の一部はA Relevance-Theoretic Account of Jokes : Resemblance-Based Jokes and Assumption/Implicature-Based Jokesと題してニュージーランド言語学会(オークランド大学で開催)で11月に発表した。 タイプI類性に基づくジョーク (1)音声の類似性に基づくジョーク(2)統語的・語彙的類似性に基づくジョーク(3)命題内容の類似性に基づくジョーク タイプII想定・推意に基づくジョーク (4)2つの矛盾する推意に基づくジョーク(5)2つの矛盾する想定に基づくジョーク(6)1つのばかげた推意に基づくジョーク(7)1つのばかげた想定に基づくジョーク (1)Why can't a bicycle stand up?
