During the year (April 2018-March 2019), one of my co-authored manuscripts was accepted to publish in Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors. I have worked and finished to process experimental data which I have done. This resulted in writing a manuscript regarding the influence of the presence of an overriding plate and an interplate rheology on trench retreat and subduction dynamics, which has already been submitted to Geophysical Journal International. Furthermore, I have participated, as the second author, in writing another manuscript in regards to investigate the process of India-Asia collision and extensive intraplate deformation in East Asia. This paper is based on results from an innovative analogue modelling, and we found that only the synchronous activity and interaction of the collision zone and subduction zones can explain East Asian deformation. The research also demonstrates that enigmatic east-west extension in Tibet, eastward continental extrusion and backarc basin formation along the East Asian margin are directly controlled by large-scale Pacific slab rollback. This manuscript has been submitted to Science. Finally, I have taken several opportunities to visit Chinese Universities (e.g., Southern University of Science and Technology and China University of Geoscience (Wuhan)), to establish further research collaborations.
