研究実績の概要 |
Pierre has finished and submitted a 16 pages paper on the role of the Hall effect during star formation. We implemented the non-ideal MHD effects on our AMR MHD code RAMSES, and performed many tests and simulations. The first report from the referee is very positive and promising. Pierre has made some progress on his work on binary star formation. The simulations are almost done and their analysis has started. He has also started a new project with Nagamine's group on the direct collapse scenario of formation of supermassive black holes seeds. He is adapting his simulation code to this problem, and now the simulations are almost ready to run.

理由
The paper concerning the Hall effect took more time than expected due to the length of the paper and some extensive tests were necessary. However, the good report from the journal's referee and the advancement on the research shows that the outcome was worth the additional effort and time. The progress on the black hole seeds was fast at first, but recent numerical difficulties have slowed down the project. Overall, he is making decent progress as expected.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
He will resubmit the paper on the Hall effect in a few weeks since the modifications are almost done. We expect it to be accepted given the good first referee report. Another paper of numerical tests on the Hall effect should follow. Several simulations have already been performed and the paper should be shorter than the first one. His simulations about binary star formation are almost finished, he will dedicate the next one or two month to their analyses and prepare a paper draft. The next project will be a more accurate study of binary star formation including all the non-ideal MHD effects with detailed diffusion coefficients based on realistic chemical evolution. Along his study of star formation, he will keep his effort to solve the numerical problems of our project concerning black hole seeds.
