During the research period supported by the FY2020 fund, the research team continued to develop hazard information support systems. Also, analyses of both the qualitative and quantitative data collected in previous years were conducted. During this research period, two refereed journal articles were published. One paper, which was published in a Japanese information processing journal, presented the information system developed by the research team. Another article, which was published in an international tourism journal, discussed the Japanese tourism sector’s preparedness for natural hazards. One book chapter, which was the result of an extensive review of the existing literature on natural hazards and tourism in Japan and analyses of recent disasters, was also published. A presentation at an academic conference was given to seek feedback from experts in the field. Finally, to disseminate the project outcome to a wider domestic and international audience, a short article summarizing some of the activities completed by the research team since the beginning of the project was published in a newly established journal by the Center for Tourism Research at Wakayama University.
