| 研究実績の概要 |
I analyzed history textbooks in five countries. The translated chapters were analyzed by me and four research collaborators. I then developed guiding questions for interviews. Guiding questions were created in collaboration with research collaborators. 30 interviews were conducted in:
Myanmar: ten interviews between Jan 28-Feb. 3, 2018; Laos: five interviews in September 2017; Cambodia: eight interviews in January 2018; Thailand: four interviews in Dec. 2017.
I also gave four presentations on the research project in Japan, Australia, and Thailand. In addition to the conducting the research project, I have also obtained an informal agreement by Cornell University Press to publish a book based on my findings. The book should be sent to the publisher by the end of 2018.

理由
Conducting 30 interviews in 6 months exceeded my expectations. I have a team of dedicated researchers who have worked well together and are writing book chapters based on their research.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
I will travel to Vietnam in April 2018 to conduct interviews with policy makers and teachers on the history curriculum. I will be collaborating with Dr. Ha Hoang at Hanoi University. Dr. Hoang will be able to introduce me to many of the key stakeholders.
I or my research collaborators will conduct second round interviews in Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, and Laos. These interviews will be used to follow up on key themes found in the first round of data collection last year. I and my research collaborators will analyze the interview data to develop second round guiding questions. The first-round interviews are currently being transcribed (and translated when needed). Thus far, we have transcribed 16 of the 30 interviews.
