In the first year of my Doctoral course, I reviewed earlier literature and develop concrete concepts and finalize the research plan.
After much consultation with my supervisor and colleagues, I finalized the analyses plans for my PhD work; and selected about 15 indicators which will be used for the assessment of UHC in Asian and Sub-Saharan African countries. Last October, I attended a training program on Bayesian statistical analysis at Cambridge University. This training helped me to gain a general overview of Bayesian statistics and inference, which I am planning to apply in the PhD work.
I visited University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh in December 2017 to consult with Professor Papia Sultana. We discussed about my UHC research plan and she gave me some data related to my PhD research. Later I visited the Department of Epidemiology of Biostatistics, Imperial College London in United Kingdom during February 16, 2018 to April 1, 2018 to conduct some part of my Doctoral research work. During the visit, I learned advanced techniques of Bayesian hierarchical modeling and had several research meetings with Dr. Marta Blangiardo and Dr. Susan Hodgson (lecturers of the department). I also learned data cleaning/management in statistical package R and disease mapping using QGIS from them. I collected about 60% of the required data for my PhD research and have already started data cleaning/management for performing the analysis.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the second year of the research, I am planning to gather all the remaining data and I will complete data management and preliminary analyses. I will visit Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Imperial College London to finalize the model later in the second year. Additionally, I will attend workshops related to advanced techniques of Bayesian modeling.
In the beginning of third year, I will complete the analysis of my research and prepare a manuscript from the research findings. We will submit the manuscript to an international medical journal and in domestic and international conferences.
