| 研究実績の概要 |
First, I setup a high-spec computer suitable for acoustic simulations: (1) a desktop workstation (HP-Z440) was procured and setup with CentOS 7 (Linux) OS, (2) its 2 internal hard-disks were configured as a single logical volume, and (3) for a complete backup, an external hard-disk was procured and setup with a matching xfs filesystem.
Second, I improved my FDTD acoustic simulation C-program: (1) the code structure was redesigned to allow better modularity and greater efficiency in specifying new acoustic landscapes, (2) significant code was added to enable simulation with explicit boundary-surface impedance for improved accuracy, and (3) Matlab scripts were developed to post-process FDTD output (align velocity and pressure signals, and reduce the required hard-disk storage space).

理由
Progress in the first year was almost exactly as planned. The only issue I did not have time to complete, was evaluation of the precise position of the KH-integration surface, but this is not a critical issue at this time.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
As progress was smooth so far, I plan to continue in the 2nd year according to my original research plans. In particular, with my improved simulation program I will investigate the correspondence between acoustic sensitivity results obtained by my semi-analytic method (Mokhtari et al., 2013) versus explicit perturbation (Mokhtari et al., 2010), first with simple resonator geometries such as a flanged uniform pipe. If initial results are promising, I hope to submit a paper for presentation at an international conference (USA, Feb 2019).
Additionally, I am now running my improved simulation program with the aim of significantly expanding my HRTF PCA results (Mokhtari et al., 2012). If the new results are good, I hope to submit a journal article on this topic within this 2nd fiscal year.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
An amount of 171008 Yen was not used in the 1st year, mainly because the purchased high-spec computer turned out to be less expensive than expected. In the current (2nd) year, I will distribute this left-over amount towards attendance at an international conference and purchase of analysis software.
