We continued our works on present day information services for travelers with particular attention to advancing concepts of personalized services, extending usage scenarios and recommendation algorithms, as well as researching on novel aspects or urban computing. During the final year, we concentrated on the following parts of research: (1) Google knowledge graph based mobile-centric approach to local event leisure activity recommendations, (2) ontology-based conceptualization of scenarios for personalized situational planning (soft planning, when the planning timeline is not fixed yet), and (3) urban sound classification and its applicability to traveling information systems. The latter aspect is in scope of digital disruption enablers for smart cities, helping in creating apps allowing travelers to develop their own emotionally intense journey experience related to distinctive sounds, specific for particular locations. Our hypothesis that sound tourism is an example of a new possible business, where the places are offered to travelers, because of their particularly interesting soundscapes. Such an approach could enhance the multimodality of travel experience together with other approaches researched within the scope of project in AY2017-AY2019.
