The 2021 academic year can be summarized as the culmination of the research project. The data and analyses of the previos years was synthesized into a book that was published the same year. The book was published by Palgrave/McMillian, a publishing house of international influence. The publiser's interests attests to the novel analysis and the quality methodology. The publication of the research results into a book also fulfills the research objective as laid out in the original proposal which was to contribute to a better understanding of the poetic works of Jose Watanabe. The publication also represents the achievement of another objective of the research which was to uncover the way in which Western literary criticism has orientalized the poetic works and public figure of the author. The book also bings to light the extraordinary use of literary devices in the poetic vision of the Peruvian poet. The socio-cultural, literary and rhetorical analyses developed in the publication have had an important impact on literary and cultural studies related to Japan in Western academic circles. The reception of the book in Latin America and North American literary criticism has attested to the impact the publication has had in contributing to adjusting the notion of Japaneseness as it has been portrayed in Western literary and cultural representations.
