理由
I have achieved what I wanted and expected to up to this point. This includes several presentations regarding my research findings at both international conferences and invited workshops and publishing of my research findings in 2 journals, with a third currently under consideration. The establishment of the EAMET website and newsletters is well under way, with the number of members gradually increasing. Having attended a number of English clinical case presentations at hospitals both in Japan and in other non-anglophone countries in Asia, I have been able to solidify the synoptic features of English clinical case presentations, including areas of variability and flexibility. These features have already been implemented as templates in my classroom and made available on the EAMET website.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the upcoming year I plan to present results of my research at the EALTHY 2019 Conference in Barcelona, the Japan Association of Medical English Education Conference in Tokyo, the Japan Association of Nursing English Conference in Nagano, the 51st meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Education, plus invited lectures at Thammasat Univ., Thailand, and Hong Bang International Univ., Vietnam.
I have been asked to write a chapter in a book to be published by Palgrave under the working title 'Stigmas in English Education for Japanese STEM Majors'. This chapter will focus upon the roles/functions of English clinical case presentations in Japanese medical institutions.
I plan to continue & expand the website and newsletter of the East Asian Association of Medical English Teachers (EAMET).

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Travel expenses to Spain (EALTHY Conference) plus two/three conferences to be held in Japan (JANET, JASMEE, Japan Society for Medical English Education) wherein findings of the research will be presented. At least one conference presentation (as of yet undetermined) held elsewhere in South East Asia is also anticipated. I also seek to move the EAMET website to a new server which will involve maintenance costs.
