During FY2017, I focused on the following tasks:
1) Realization of a database of medtech patents around the world between 1960 and 2015 (more than 500,000 patents)
2) Submission of a research paper on the global X-ray equipment industry, co-written with Prof. Ben Wubs, Erasmus University, Rotterdam
3) Preparation of the special issue "Health Industries in the Twentieth Century" for Business History, in collaboration with Prof. Paloma Fernandez, University of Barcelona

In FY2018, I intend to do the following tasks:
1) Finalization of the patent database
2) Presentation of first results at the World Economic History Conference (Boston, August 2018)
3) Preparation of research papers
4) Start of joint research plan with Dr. Mariama Kaba, University of Lausanne (Switzerland), on the history of orthopedic devices around the world after 1945
