研究実績の概要 |
Based on a quantitative study of 208 employees in Japan and 273 employees in France, it was found that French employees significantly evaluated their job management and leadership performance higher than the Japanese employees did. Japanese employees also highly evaluated the Trust they had in their leaders and Compassion, while French employees highly evaluated Optimism and Forgiveness. Interestingly, both groups equally evaluated their firms' Integrity. However, for Japanese employees, negative subjective well-being (SWB) was found to negatively influence self-management, but was not dependent on firm Integrity. This was not the case for French employees. These findings imply that it is crucial for Japanese firms to reduce employees' negative SWB to mitigate its effect on performance.

理由
In 2017, we identified the major enablers and predictors of subjective well-being and job performance, and published our paper in an international well-known peer-reviewed journal. Prior to moving from the quantitative to the qualitative part of our study, we focused our efforts on presenting at two peer-reviewed international conferences to get feedback on our analytical model. We also are now in the process of identifying case study targets, and are now able to proceed with the interviews for the case studies in France and Japan.
We expect to be on track in terms of the case study analysis in France and Japan.
|
今後の研究の推進方策 |
In 2018 we will interview small and medium enterprises in various industries in both Japan and France. Based on these interviews, we will develop case studies which will be presented at international conferences. The findings will be used to develop hypotheses and a model for a quantitative (questionnaire) study to be conducted in 2019.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The reason for delaying the use of some portion of the funding until fiscal year 2018 is because this unused portion is now budgeted for travel in 2018 to interview corporations in France and Japan.
