理由
The COVID-19 pandemic has prevented the research team from carrying out planned fieldwork. The team has continued with literature-based, and web-based research, and has successfully published and presented on research derived from these approaches. Ongoing collaboration between the researchers has moved to online conferencing, as have presentations. The proposed database has been delayed due to challenges associated with collecting primary sources amid the pandemic. A bibliographic database is being developed in the interim, with primary sources to be added if collection of these becomes viable.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
The COVID-19 pandemic is likely to continue to hinder this research for at least the next 12 months, rendering international travel impossible. Domestic travel will be possible, and the research team will seize on any opportunity to conduct domestic fieldwork should it become feasible to do so. In the interim, the focus of research will shift to analysing web-based information. This approach can be justified as the internet remains an important source of information for migrants for a range of policy domains, including disasters.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Fieldwork expenses that could not be used in the previous year are to be allocated to domestic travel and fieldwork in the 2021-22 financial year. Where possible, international fieldwork, will be conducted via telephone and zoom conference calls.
