理由
The research team has identified principal theories which have potential to contribute significantly to tourism research literature. The resilience theory and socio-ecological system approach to study disaster-affected destinations have been well advocated in tourism studies. Furthermore, the research team also identified the linkages between human migration in and out of disaster-affected area. Findings on demographic change and migration from this study set a new research direction to focus on the human-nature relationship in post-disaster recovery. The human-nature interconnectedness will furthered be developed in another paper.
In the course this year, the research team has successfully invited a world-renowned researcher on sustainable tourism, Professor David Weaver, formerly affiliated with Griffith University (Australia), to mentor research activities and to assist with publication of research outcomes in top journals. The team has submitted two papers to top journals for review.
