研究実績の概要 |
The growth and oxidation of Cu nanoparticles prepared by sputtering onto liquid polyethylene glycol (PEG, M.W. = 600) have been investigated. Particle growth was observed with an increase in particle size over time. On the other hand, time-dependent oxidation of Cu nanoparticles was monitored and confirmed with fading of the surface plasmon resonance of metallic Cu and changing in color of the nanoparticle dispersions. Published results of bimetallic alloy nanoparticles in this project were collected and reported in a review for metallic nanoparticles via sputtering onto liquids. The researches in preparation and formation of alloy nanoparticles using two immiscible metals as target for sputtering are in progress for publication.

理由
From the investigation of metals that form intermetallic compounds in the bulk-state, i.e., Cu and Au, and metals form complete solid solution in the bulk state, i.e. Au and Ag, the understanding of experimental set-up and parameters, analysis for resulting bimetal nanoparticles has been obtained. This helps quick access to the further study of on particle formation in immiscible bimetal system.
