In this academic year, very significant results have been achieved in my research and I'm really satisfied with the achievement. Let me describe one of them which is related to the theme of this project.
In studying quantum field theories without relying on Lagrangian, the fundamental principles of physics, namely locality and unitarity, are very important. By using these fundamental principles, I proved a classification theorem of what is called invertible field theory. Invertible field theory is physically important in many contexts such as symmetry protected topological phases, anomalies, and generalized theta angles in condensed matter physics as well as high energy physics. Without relying on Lagrangian at all, I classified them by using locality and unitarity.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
I'm planning to study more about anomalies in quantum field theory and its applications to physical phenomena. Even if the theory has a Lagrangian, there can be anomalies which are not immediately obvious from the Lagrangian and they can play significant roles in constraining the theory. In particular, I'm planning to study QCD phase transitions following my previous work using the technique of 't Hooft anomalies.
