研究概要

大域的ノルムを用いた幾何データ処理最適化理論の構築を行い、大域的ノルムに基づく幾何学図形の最適圧縮、画像の最適近似、更に新しい概念であるグリッド上の離散ユークリッド幾何公理の提案と、それに基づく線分族の構築と理論的最適性を示した。成果は31編の査読付き学術論文、36件の国内外学会発表にまとめられ、3冊の著書やテレビインタビューなどによる啓蒙広報活動も行った。
