Organic- inorganic amine and amine-thiol functionalized hybrid materials from five two-component and seven three-component systems were synthesized. Three different surfactant extraction techniques and two ways of mixing of the silanol precursors for each system were applied. The purposes for applying of three different surfactant extraction techniques are: 1) determination of the most appropriate extraction conditions for achieving complete surfactant extraction for each system; 2) improving condensation rate of the silica framework of the synthesized materials; 3) preserving of the mesoporous structure of the synthesized hybrid materials after surfactant extraction step, and 4) improving of the pore size, pore volume and surface area values of the final porous functionalized hybrid materials. The purposes for applying of two different ways of mixing of the silanol precursors are: 1) improving and controlling the distribution of functional groups on the internal and external surface of the pores; 2) improving pore collapse resistance during and after surfactant extraction step; 3) improving of the textural characteristics values of the synthesized materials after the surfactant extraction step. The structural and morphological characteristics of the synthesized materials are going to be determined by nitrogen adsorption desorption analysis, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, small-angle X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, differential thermal analysis and elemental analysis.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
My future work plan contains three main parts. The first part is investigation of the influence of surfactant: silanol precursors ratio on the pore shape, pore ordering, surface area, pore size and pore volume of the synthesized materials after surfactant extraction step. The second part includes determination of the maximal silsesquioxane : tetrasilane ration at which can be obtained organic-inorganic hybrid materials with high textural characteristics values and well-ordered mesoporous structure. Influence of the number of the functional group and the length of the organic group on the materials structure and morphology will be investigated to. The third part includes investigation of the sorption properties of the materials toward appropriate adsorptive which will be chosen based on the structural and morphologic characteristics of the materials.
