| 研究実績の概要 |
During FY2019 we continued our research on the coupling between social systems and disease spreading. We have made progress roughly according to plan. Relative to the proposal, the focus has been slightly more on modeling studies, rather than data science. We have published four papers and one book chapters directly related to this topic and presented our work in four international conferences and at four research visits.

Both modeling tudies and data science are proceeding largely as originally planned, with journal publications on schedule.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
During FY2020, we will continue the work to relate social effects and the spread of emerging diseases. At the time of writing, the Covid-19 outbreak is affecting the entire planet. We will use this outbreak to inform the current project. We do not even need to change our research plan much. The only difference is a slight change of focus from the temporal-network aspect of disease spreading models to static network models that use to are easier to combine with the data of information spreading. During the year, we will gather data of how the Covid-19 outbreak has altered the contact patterns, we the will try to relate this to the sentiments and awareness of the disease. Because of the current travel restrictions, we will carry out this project as an online collaboration. We also would benefit from more simulation power. Therefore, some of the original budget designated for travel will be used for computer hardware.
