Our research achievements for the last two years are mainly: follow-up field observations, additional interviews, conference presentations, and article/paper publications to report the research results. More specifically, we achieved the following activities: 1)fieldworks in the former battlefield at DMZ (Quang Tri Province) in Vietnam, war memorials in South Korea (Seoul National Cemetery, War Memorial of Korea, the Independence Hall of Korea), 2)investigation of relevant organizations in Vietnam (Center for Heritage Conservation and Museum of Quang Tri Province, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Visitor Center, etc), 3)interviews with relevant persons (site managers of war monuments in Quang Tri Province DMZ, veteran of the Vietnam War, Okinawa NGO educational tour organizer, etc), 4)workshops with local collaborators, continuing data collection from the guest book archives in Quang tri Province, 5)networking with local universities (Vietnam National University, Hue University) to collaborate on war tourism, 6)international conference presentations and abstract submission to International Workshop: Toxic and Explosive Legacies: Living with War Pollution Across Globe 2023), 7)journal article publications ("Ambivalent Female Bodies: A Place for Feminine War Memory in Japan" etc. and one paper under review on the Journal of Tourism Development and Planning).
