研究実績の概要 |
On the theoretical side, we have found a way to improve the efficiency of our nonlocal measurement scheme while reducing the disturbance induced by the interaction. It turns out that in the non-strong measurement regime, nonlocal observables can be measured without using maximally-entangled states. The results exhibiting the relation between the measurement strength and the necessary amount of entanglement have been compiled in a paper, which is to be submitted for publication in the near future. On the experimental side, a new cryostat system which will be used for high-efficiency superconductive photon detectors has been delivered and installed. Elements needed for the stabilization of the optical setup also have been set up, and the high-speed electro-optical switches that will implement the measurement interactions are also ready. The experiment can now enter its final phase with results hopefully in the coming year.

理由
The cryostat which we first planned to use broke down unexpectedly around May of last year, leading to a significant delay regarding the installation of the photon detectors. In the meantime however, significant progress has been made on the theoretical aspects of this project.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
This research will now enter its final phase with the actual measurement of nonlocal observables on a pair of qubits, using the source and the detectors that have been installed. The final goal is to be able to compare different measurement strategies over a broad range of measurement strengths in order to compare them.
