研究実績の概要 |
During the third fiscal year of my research, in order to test the practical application potential of the newly developed glue-immobilized P/Ag/Ag2O/Ag3PO4/TiO2 (PAgT) photocatalyst system for continuous-cycle sterilization, the study was carried out through the following three key points. (1) Evaluate the photocatalytic inactivation ability of the glue-immobilized PAgT photocatalyst for different kinds of pathogenic bacteria. (2) Investigate the stability and recyclability of the developed glue-immobilized photocatalyst reactor for the continuous-cycle water sterilization. (3) Clarify the disinfection mechanism involved during the immobilized PAgT photocatalyst system for the efficient water sterilization. The result showed that the newly developed glue-immobilized PAgT photocatalyst system could effectively inactivate various pathogenic bacteria under light irradiation with excellent stability and reusability. The enhanced antibacterial performance of immobilized PAgT system was due to a synergistic effect of disinfection mechanism combining the improved photocatalysis on the introduction of heterojunction structure, and the mechanical stress driven from the composite sharp edge morphology. The present results reveal the possibility of applying the developed silicone glue-immobilized PAgT system for real water sterilization under solar light to further improve the public health level around the world, especially in the rural areas or at the time of disaster.
