研究実績の概要 |
Phase A "Stakeholder analysis": Data of 12 qualitative semi-structured interviews with social stakeholders of medical care (nurses, physicians), rehabilitation, childcare, care for the elderly and disabled about their values and norms regarding the actual, future, or potential usage or non-usage of empowerment technologies were analyzed; two detailed case studies about childcare and care of the disabled were extracted. A further case study concerned the relationship between empowerment and enhancement from the viewpoint of assistive robotics. Based on the notion of empowerment, it was shown that the usage of assistive robotics in sports would neglect human self-efficacy and finally undermine the idea of sports performance.
Phase A "Stakholder analysis" and phase B "R&D of empowerment technology": The concept of empowerment technology was propsed as a value-driven framework for advancing the interlocking of human values and computational modeling. A capability-based model of the interactive unity of humans and robots was introduced and applied to a robotic childcare system. This approach showed how culturally sustainable social robotics can be deigned as empowerment technology social robotics addresses the values held by local stakeholders and ensures the support of human empowerment in terms of these values.

理由
Phase A "Stakeholder analysis": The data obtained during the interview studies exceeded expectations in terms of amount and informational contents so that a intensive data analysis was obtained. Phase B "R&D of empowerment technology": The design model for empowerment technology was developed. In general, fieldwork was limited due to the pandemic and partly compensated by theoretical investigation.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
Phase B "R&D of empowerment technology": Assessing the norms and values required by R&D for implementing empowerment technology. Phase C "Implemenation model of empowerment technology": Drawing together the results of phases A and B in order to present an applicabe (value-driven) model for implenting empowerment technology as a technological lifestyle. Depending on the restrictions due to the pandemic, planned workshops and fieldwork may be limited.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the pandemic, most of the travel expenses could not be used for international conferences etc. and inviting oversea's researcher to Japan. So far as the pandemic allows, research trips and invitation of researcher to Japan will be done in FY2021.
